Our founding story dates back to 1945 and is deeply rooted in the legacy of farming experience and expertise. It all started with the dream of K.J. Varghese – the founder of Kanacheril Plantation who started his journey as a plantation supervisor. A few years down the lane, his vision to become a planter was actualized with his persistent efforts. His plantation was home to tea and a wide variety of spices, including cardamom, black pepper, coffee, nutmeg, clove, ginger and turmeric. Besides, he forayed into organic vegetable farming and cattle rearing. Years have gone by. Kanacheril Plantation is now spearheaded by the third generation and actively contributes to farm tourism through its venture called Tealawn Pool Villa, which offers the guests a spectacular experience of the flora and fauna of Munnar.
